Energy attracts reality

When a person yearns for a thing--a situation in life, an opportunity, some kind of material abundance--this act of yearning sets up powerful forces.  These forces survive physical death just as the personality survives physical death.  By wishing intensely for a thing, the universe, like a scale, sets in motion forces to fulfill that wish.  Wishes do come true.  By wishing to be born to a higher social class, Jonathan created the circumstance wherein, in another life, he was indeed born to a family of high social standing.

Perhaps this sounds lovely.  Of course, it is.  But it is also the construction for oneself of further earth lessons.  For those of you who feel weary of the suffering of physical life, we will give a little hint: be content with what you have, who you are, your station in life.  By longing to be something more, or have something more, you create for yourself a reciprocal response by the universe to fulfill those dreams.  You will live another life to receive that gift. ...

When a soul regrets such wishes on this side, it doesn't count.  But when a person, while in life, comes to discard her or his dreams and desires, then that cancels the forces that were set in motion by the original yearning.  If one can learn in life the futility of wanting prestige, wealth, and status, then no future lessons are necessary.  This is the highest accomplishment--to learn truths while still on your physical plane, the stage of misconception and illusion.

Every wish comes true in one way or another, so we should be really careful about what to wish for.  

We can and will learn what we should learn, anyway; what matters is "when."

A burden has been placed upon your shoulders; how you bear it you will decide.  If you square your shoulders and say, "This is my burden, I will carry it," it will become lighter because your soul will grow and in growing allow some of that inner strength to heal you.  There is none spiritually impoverished for using honesty and courage in facing difficulties.  You have nothing to fear. Life is what we had planned before we were born; it is for learning lessons and becoming a better person.  Everything we experience on earth is our own decision and creation. 

We know deep down what difficulties we are going through and what pleasures we will enjoy.  It is only we do not remember at a conscious level.  

It is easy to be cheerful when there is everything to be cheerful about

It is easy to be cheerful when there is everything to be cheerful about, but not so easy when the earth is shrouded in darkness--at these times your test comes.  It is easy to be kind when everyone is kind, easy to be loving when others are loving.  But in this there is little credit.  The wise soul knows the light is shining in the heavens even when the shadows are dense.  Thus when you raise your consciousness above the clouds, you will know that the Sun is shining and that the life of Christ is the only enduring life.

It is true that we can be nice to others when we are happy with ourselves, our relationships, jobs, opportunities, and/or recognition from others.  So it is usually advised that the first thing to do is to focus on ourselves and to take good care of ourselves to become happy.  This is too true and is very easy to do.  

However, as your soul gains experiences and grows older, the higher goal you set in order to reach an even higher stage of soul's growth.  

This message is for such souls who aspire to grow more than ever in this lifetime.

We are the weather

"... you are the weather. Almost everything you do on Earth affects the weather.  Many of you think it's up to governments to stop the global emissions of chemicals and gasses that are destroying your ozone layer and triggering changes in weather patterns, but every single one of you is the weather.  You can all do your bit to help look after the air and the Earth, then slowly but surely your cumulative efforts will kick in.  The extreme weather conditions would ease and many sicknesses would no longer plague you.  Everything could be perfect.  It may take several generations, but it can happen, it must happen.  You may think that what you do in your own home and at work makes no difference, but it's like a chain reaction.  Many people have woken up to this fact, but billions more need to be educated at how they can help--and very soon." The above quotation is one of the messages from late Princess Diana, who passed away in July 1997, received by an English journalist, Hazel Courteney, in April 1998. 

We should remember that human beings cannot live without the Earth and Nature.  It is not only our daily efforts to try not to destroy the environment, to protect it, and to aim at a more sustainable way of living but also to remember where we have come from, who we are and why we are here, and to watch our own thoughts and emotions to live by that all of us have to do now.

Human beings, especially those who live in developed nations, should really remember that we are children of God and part of the whole Universe, and try to live more in tune with the natural environment.  

We are always with love

You are always with love.

Feel it, have it, and express it to others.

It will return to you twofold, threefold.

Hardest thing to achieve

Being selfless is very hard to achieve.  Probably one of the hardest things for humans to attain.

However, if you truly believe in the eternity of the soul and decide to live by truth, then you will need to work hard to forget yourself as much as possible.  

Efforts will be rewarded when you least expect.

At the end of tether

"It is when people seem at the end of their tether, and that nowhere can they find in the material world anything to help them, that they are ready to be illumined by the truths of the spirit."

It is not impossible to learn lessons during happy times, of course.  However, basically, on Earth, lessons are learnt in contrast, e.g., easy and difficult, happy and unhappy, good and bad.  Thus, a life without any difficulties is not really beneficial for us in terms of soul's growth.  

For we are here on Earth for soul's growth.  

You are tested

"In the end, all of you in the physical world are tested. Your world is a test, and your experiences, the events of your lives, are your own custom-designed personal exams. How do you measure up? Do you think mostly of yourself, or do you seize opportunities to help others? These comments should help you evaluate your own performance. We do try to help along those who make right decisions. I don’t mean that they become the richest, but they do find the greatest satisfactions, and they tend to achieve that elusive sense of inner serenity that you all yearn for."

One of the keys to pass the test is to make the right choice. Basically, the right choice is made when we can put benefit of others before ours.

We should be kinder and more considerate to others especially during good and happy times.  For when all things proceed as we hope for, we are tested too. People tend to think that this is a matter of course and it's absolutely unnecessary to trouble to mention it afresh. Actually, this is much easier said than done.  

If we are indulged in our own success and bliss and take it for granted, thinking that our efforts and hard work were only rewarded, not grateful to others who have helped us, or totally indifferent to those who are less fortunate or in trouble, we will end up failing the exam.   

Radioactive waste is not an intrinsic part

"The atom can be used for good. Its power can lead to the betterment of humanity. Toxic byproducts do not have to be a part of the process. But the evolution of man's atomic technology cannot leap ahead of his own spirit.To date, the most prevalent motives of those working with nuclear science have been greed, lust and selfish exploitation. So the science has followed suit, producing huge profits, tremendous power and unthinkable pollution. Nuclear technology has simply magnified the spirits of the people controlling it. When humankind approaches the science with a new spirit, then a new process, a new technology will result.

When the spirit is one of humble reverence for the earth, for the powerful forces of nature, when the spirit seeks to unite humankind in goodwill and to share the earth's resources in order to alleviate material suffering, when the spirit is to share all one has with others, then and only then will the whole science of nuclear processes be unlocked to your physicists. Not the act but the motive

Service is the one thing

It is said that there are roughly 4 purposes for souls to be born on Earth with : 1) to fulfil our wishes that we could not in any of the previous lives; 2) to correct relationships with others which went wrong; 3) to awaken our abilities that are latent, to straighten kinks in our nature, and to achieve whatever good we have planned to; and 4) to shed light on people around us with our talents or abilities that we have acquired through previous incarnations.  Any souls were born with these four purposes in one lifetime. The above quotation mainly refers to purpose 4.  

Religions can help

"Am I?  The Bible represents a fundamental guidepost for millions of people on the planet, in much the same way the Koran, Torah, and Pali Canon offer guidance to people of other religions.  If you and I could dig up documentation that contradicted the holy stories of Islamic belief, Judaic belief, Buddhist belief, pagan belief, should we do that?  Should we have a flag and tell the Buddhists that we have proof the Buddha did not come from a lotus blossom?  Or that Jesus was not born of a literary virgin birth?  Those who truly understand their faiths understand the stories are metaphorical."

Basically, existing religions are all similar in the sense that they contain credos and beliefs that are not compatible with Spiritual truths, although they do share the fundamental truths. 

First was the Spirit world, which was created by Great Spirit or God.  All the religions on this planet originally sprang out in that world and was brought down to Earth through spiritual leaders or gurus just for the benefit of mankind.  

Darwinism?

"Darwin was wrong in that regard; humankind did not spring from the apes [only the shell, the body]. The spirit existed first, apart from the human body, and then a suitable form for its expression in physical life was provided by those who watch over all these worlds.

Please get this matter straight. Spirit and consciousness create form. Form does not create spirit."

Spirits of human beings are far more advanced than those of monkeys.  Dogs and cats are closer to us than apes in this respect, because they have been petted by mankind for ages and so had many experiences of being loved.  Dogs (as well as cats) know love better than apes and thus more advanced in soul.

Darwinism (as well as neo Darwinism) is a hypothesis after all. 

Measures of success

"We are here to learn about love, compassion, kindness, and nonviolence. Success should be measured by these qualities. Are we becoming a more understanding and empathic person? If so, we are successful. The soul clings to such learning, because these are spiritual truths. With my clients who excelled professionally yet still felt unhappy, we worked on focusing on the core values of being a better, kinder person. At that point, their outlook began to improve. That is, after all, why they are here on Earth--and why we are here. Our purpose in life is not to be a bestselling author, or to have a financially lucrative career, or to be a star. It is to be a more loving, compassionate person. Successes can be used to further the spiritual path and to reach many people, but they are merely one possible means and not the end. The true goal is to help others, and if you make that your goal, eventually you'll become that bestselling author, or the multimillionaire--or not. It won't matter. Evolution of a soul is not a single, linear path. It includes many lessons to learn. For love or divine wisdom has many aspects, and there are numbers of methods of acquisition. Kindness, compassion, and empathy are only part of the wisdom. There are other qualities, such as patience, generosity, courage, or perseverance, to name but a few, as well.

Find light within

You stand in darkness and cannot get out however hard you try. Even your closest friends or family members cannot be of any help.

When that happens, think that you are being given a divine opportunity to find light within. This light is connected to light of the whole universe, the ultimate source of our being. You need darkness around you to be aware of gleaming light inside you.

This is far more grateful than you think it is, being awakened to your own divinity during your earthly sojourn.

Be rejoiced at the opportunity of spiritual awareness with all your heart and spirit. The divine intervention shall never ever fail you.

Kisha-Gotami (3)

When we understand that philosophy (love of wisdom arrived at through personal effort and experience) is the ultimate medicine for all our psychological ills, we shall free ourselves from the bonds of sorrows. What is needed is philosophy in the sense of a lived, visceral experience like that of Kisha-Gotami. . . . (p. 76)

Negativities can be transmuted by cultivating positive qualities. This takes time to accomplish. If there is darkness in a room, all we need to do is switch on a light. We might need help, from a counselor, spiritual leader or friend; even an ordinary task like driving a car requires a few lessons.

In the story above, the Buddah as a friend and facilitator headed Kisha-Gotami in the right direction, and she was able to move from her painful intimate loss to loss as a general human issue. He helped her successfully move from a particular to the general. This is the way of wisdom. This gave her distancing. Wisdom is what makes us rise above life's miseries, not unrealistically but rather in the same timely existential way that Kisha-Gotami did. She confronted the main challenge of her life as she went from door to door. Little by little wisdom awakened in her like the morning sun.

True release from suffering is never effected by harping ad infinitum on the personally toned material of a painful complex. Freedom comes when, bearing our scars, we are able to rise above the personal to the level of the transpersonal . . . . (p. 77)

Real wisdom is noticed or learned usually through personal difficulties. Spiritual awakening does happen that way.

Kisha-Gotami's story (2)

"He told her empathetically that he would surely help her, but she must first accomplish a simple task. She must go back down to the village and beg for a few grains of mustard seeds and bring them back up to him on the mountain. These grains must come, however, from a house where no one had ever died.

She rushed away, still clutching her baby and at the first house she saw she begged for some mustard seeds. These were readily given to her, as mustard seeds were a common household item. As she was departing she remembered to ask if anyone had died in that house, and the woman answered that only last week, her old father-in-law had died in the very premises. Kisha sadly gave back the seeds and went on to the next house, only to find that there too a death had recently taken place. And from house to house she went throughout the entire village, and the neighboring village as well, disappointed at every turn, as she discovered that Death had stalked every door.

She climbed back up the mountain without any mustard seeds and knelt before the Buddah, placing the dead baby at his feet. She said but two words, "I understand," and wept. The scriptures go on to tell how she became a dedicated disciple of the sacred teachings that free one from suffering . . . ."

Kisha-Gotami's story (1)

"A poignant story from Buddhist legend tells about the tragedy of a young and pretty Indian woman named Kisha-Gotami illustrating that no one can help us except ourselves. As a young girl she always dreamed about being married, having children and engaging in a happy household and family life. She lived in a society in which marriages are arranged by the parents, but she was more than satisfied when her parents chose a young man that she herself would have picked. They were happy with each other from their first moments together, but a year after their wedding tragedy struck. Her husband died in an anccident and Kisha-Gotami tried desperately to console herself by focusing all of her energies on her new baby, who looked exactly like her husband. 

One fatal morning soon after her husband's demise, the young widow woke up to find her baby lying lifeless beside her. Her grief was infinite, and she went mad. She walked holding her dead baby through the highways and byways of her village, holding her dead baby, unwilling to release the decaying corpse for a proper funeral. Though countless friends and neighbors tried to convince her to hand over the dead child, she would not relent. When some tried snatching the dead child from her arms, she ran away and began raving if anyone approached her.

An old woman told Kisha-Gotami that a very wise and powerful holy man was camped on a nearby mountain, and that it was rumored that he performed miracles of all kinds and even brought the dead back to life.

Kisha-Gotami ran at full speed up the mountain to see the Buddah sitting serenely in the shade of a banyan tree, instructing some of his disciples. She implored him on her knees to bring her baby back to life by use of his miraculous powers." (pp. 74-75)

Emptiness

Don't be afraid of emptiness within you. 

People try to fill the emptiness with tangible materials or by having things, such as money, status, friends, etc. They never really fill it. The harder you try, the stronger and larger the emptiness will feel.

Turn the emptiness into a space for light. Find light of wisdom to fill it in. Then you will find yourself in the emptiness, rather than emptiness inside you.

When you are surrounded by the light, you can be a giving person, a person who is ready to give others this light of love.

Age of Aquarius

"In terms of prophesy," Teabing said, "we are currently in an epoch of enormous change. The millennium has recently passed, and with it has ended the two-thousand-year-long astrological Age of Pisces--the fish, which is also the sign of Jesus. As any astrological symbologist will tell you, the Piscean ideal believes that man must be told what to do by higher powers because man is incapable of thinking for himself. Hence it has been a time of fervent religion. Now, however, we are entering the Age of Aquarius--the water bearer--whose ideals claim that man will learn the truth and be able to think for himself. The ideological shift is enormous, and it is occurring right now."
